IT'S TIME TO PASS THE BATON
I have been representing the members of the Houston Area Local for about 20 years in various positions, as well as Maintenance Craft Director for two terms. In 2015, I attended and completed Arbitration Advocacy Training. I have been certified as an Advocate for the maintenance craft since 2016. I believe my experiences, challenges, and accomplishments have qualified me to be your next National Business Agent! It is quite evident that our current NBAs in the southern region are taking us for granted. Dealing with the labor challenges of today requires solidarity, foresight, and the will to fight for what is right. The slogan "It's Not Personal, It's Business!" emerged when our current NBA's took it personal when I previously ran for NBA. They in turn chose to blackball or exclude myself and others from representing our locals as well as other locals as an arbitration advocate even after being certified by our National President to do so. Their reason for this was to limit our success as well as our exposure to the members. This is unacceptable! This action by our NBA's only hurts our members and benefits the Postal Service. The lack of representation the members in our region have been receiving at step-3 and arbitration could easily have been prevented but rather than make the members and their grievances a priority our two NBA's chose to put their own interests first and as a result your grievances have taken a back seat in the grievance process. Representation and the desire for collective actions should speak louder than an individuals words. Therefore, I ask that each of you collectively take part in the upcoming election and vote for the much needed change. I am driven by progressive ideas and bold actions that get results. This is why I am running and it is what I intend to bring to the NBA's office with your support!
